Welcome to my site where I share everything I can about my journey of writing epic fantasy—everything that doesn’t give away any spoilers, that is. This is going to be difficult since each novel builds on the last, and the series needs to be read from the first book in order, and, of course, there are lots of twists and turns and things to discover.

But, I promise I will do my best to make it worth your while to start the journey of reading my series and reading all the way to a highly satisfying ending. And yes, this will be EPIC.

So what’s my series about?

Millennia ago, after the Great Flood, another world was created for the second humankind: the humans who can manipulate energy. Over the years, these humans have evolved into five distinct societies, each based upon their energy frequency. These energy frequencies range from the highest frequency of life energy all the way down to the lowest frequency of death energy. The societies have drifted farther apart and have grown more contentious over time, and now their world is a giant tinderbox where the slightest instigation could set it all ablaze.

And so, in this world where your energy frequency determines your fate, a young woman from the most elite life class family yearns to be a renowned healer like her deceased mother. On a vibrant, tropical island full of ancient life energy, Aline LeClaire is the last of her family’s lineage, a scandal for any life class family, but even more so since her ancestor created the world in which they live. Aline is crumbling under the weight of being the weakest healer in her family’s history and all the expectations thrust upon her. Rumors constantly swirl that her family has done something wrong and Nature itself is causing them to die out. She must somehow increase her meager abilities under the burden of an aunt who despises her, pass her examination in front of thousands, and earn the right to bond with a high-bred protector to have many children and save her lineage. But is this truly what she wants?

While far across the ocean on the icy island wasteland of the death class society, a forbidden second son deals with being disowned. Found when he was a boy, Duncan now works for the head of the assassins in secret to keep his existence hidden or he’ll be executed. Spying across the islands, he uncovers The Council’s decree to execute a life class healer for breaking Nature’s Sacred Law. Does he really want to intervene? No, he doesn’t, not until he finds out who it is. Now he just has to convince her of what’s really going on—but would she ever believe a death class assassin?

As these opposing worlds of life and death collide, Aline must get over her fears and trust Duncan or risk death at the hands of The Council. Fleeing across the islands, they find things are not what they seem, and their decisions have far-reaching consequences no one could have expected—not the least of which is them growing closer by the day.
