Whew, we are in February already. Time is flying for me, and I’ve got my fantasy-writing mojo back.
Finally!
I realized I was putting too much pressure on myself to decide everything about everything, and that killed my vision and creativity. I can write and come up with things on the fly that work, so why keep torturing myself to figure it all out ahead of time?
And I really, really missed writing these amazing characters in this amazing world. Have I mentioned enough how much I missed writing?
So I have come to a decision.
I am going to figure the rest out as I write, which means I am going to write every book in the series before I go back to dissecting everything under the sun. (Yes, I’m a perfectionist—a blessing and a curse that needs to be carefully balanced.)
I’m setting my heart free to write with passion and creativity once more. I know enough about what is needed to create a story (and not a series of incidents strung together being erroneously called a story – thank you Jeff Lyons).
So I shall write with a renewed vision and purpose, now clearer after going through the hard work of tearing apart plots and characters and realizing I have enough figured out.
And so I’m starting at the beginning, the very beginning of everything. It all starts with the cause of the Great Flood—and it will be epic.
