I’ve been creating this fantasy world, its societies, and thousands of years of history (along with the plot) for a while now, but it really started as a seed from my love of archaeology, a future character in the series and how she came to be. Figuring her out, I had to dive into her past, and thus, this epic story was born.

Years ago, I actually wrote her first book and the first six chapters of the next book in a little over one month, but I had to stop because the story was becoming so large I had to figure out exactly what I was writing.

I sat in horror as I realized the story could never happen on Earth; it was turning into societies that couldn’t exist in our reality or hide here, and so it took me almost two days of sitting with the notion of creating an entirely new world and everything that came with it.

The amount of decision-making and detail that goes into creating an entirely new world is staggering, and so I had to decide if I really wanted to—or even could—do it. I seriously considered whittling down my story and keeping it simple, or finding a way to have it happen on Earth, but I couldn’t.

These characters, the more I wrote them and tumbled them about in my head, just couldn’t be simplified, their stories couldn’t be cut short. Their legacies had to be told.

And so, after an exhausting battle within my mind, I decided I would tell their story no matter how much it took or how long it took. And so began my journey to create an entirely new world based on energy frequency.
